about this painting: Magda paints Lappi Lappi, a rock hole near Lake Hazlett, about 90kms northwest of Lake Mackay in Western Australia.  In the time of the Dreamtime many mothers with young children would gather at the water because it was a safe place to stay. The rock hole is home to a rainbow serpent that travels underground between many rock holes.
