Susan Gibson Napaltjarri was born in 1968 in Kintore. She was taught to paint by her parents, both successful, international indigenous artists. Her father is Yala Yala Gibbs and her mother is Ningura Napurula.

Susan depicts sacred stories from the Tingari Dreamtime which tell of women as healers and providers within the community. Her paintings represent her birth country; the region of Tjukurla in the Gibson Desert. Susan’s style and subject matter reflect a strong influence from her parents; however, she has developed an individual approach which is apparent in much of her recent work.
