Yuyuya Nampitjinpa was born circa 1946 to the east of Kiwirrkurra.

She is the daughter of Minpuru (Uta Uta Jangala’s older brother) and Mitjili, and she is the sister of Ronnie Tjampitjinpa.

Her family moved to Haasts Bluff in the 1950’s and later to the newly formed Papunya Community.

Yuyuya has an extensive range of country and dreamings. Her work shows the influence of her brother and uncle in its bold colour and line.

In 1999 Yuyuya contributed to the Kintore Women’s painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal.

Yuyuya is deeply involved in ceremony and community.
