Patrick is an artist of major significance.

He was listed in 2005 as one of the 50 most collectable artists (Australian Art Collector).

As a young man, “no whiskers “, he walked with his family into the old Balgo Mission.

The family would collect rations such as wheat, which they would grind up themselves, also rice, sugar and tea and then return to the bush.

He spent his young years between Balgo and Kiwirrkura.

His brother is Brandy Tjungurrayi and sister is Elizabeth Nyumi who still live at Balgo. Both are famous artists also.

Patrick won the 2008 WA Indigenous Art Award (in June 2008).

His work is described as having a powerful presence, masterful, monumental. He is a senior law man and is considered to have a strong influence on the other painting men at the art center a Kiwirrkura.

He commenced painting in Balgo in 1986.

His work has appeared in group exhibitions by Papunya Tula every year since
1997.
