Ngila Mungkuri says:
“My dad is Peter Mungkuri and my mother is Maisie King, all of us are painters at Iwantja Arts. When I was young dad would take us to stay in country and he taught me to hunt for malu (kangaroo) and kaliya (emu.) When I got older I went to school in Adelaide, it was a good time there being near the sea and the gardens. Now I work with the children at the Indulkana School, and I paint stories from country, from my memories and sometimes from dad’s stories.”
