about this painting: Shorty depicts a site west of Yuendumu, Puyurru.  In the usually dry creek bed are water soakages or naturally occurring wells.  Two Jangala men, rainmakers, sang the rain, unleashing a giant storm.  The storm travelled across the land, there was a lot of lightening. This storm met up with another storm. The 2 storms were then picked up by a bird that carried the storms across the land, but it became too heavy for the bird, so it dropped the storms on the land. This created a giant water soakage.  The lines represent the flood waters running through the landscape.
