about this painting: Neville paints the story of the Spinifex Man. It is a strong, sacred dreamtime story of his homeland south of Warburton, Western Australia. He has a loose, painterly style, using linear strokes.
The lines in his painting represent the spear straightening ceremony, where the spear shaft is heated in hot coals of a small fire before straightening. The footprints belong to the Spinifex Man.
